Hawarden A&P Show

On behalf of the Hawarden A & P Show we would like to invite your club & members to attend our local show on the 20th of March 2010.

Last year your presence was well recognised & we had a lot of positive feedback.

This year our show theme is "Youth & tradition" & we are encouraging people to participate in the theme. It would be great to see you bringing some old cars & new cars as to fit our theme.

We have local food & beverages for sale & plenty of entertainment lined up, side shows for children as well as the normal A & P livestock activities.

To Whom It May Concern My name is Nev Croy and I am the Chief Fire Officer of the Sheffield Volunteer Fire Brigade.

We are writing to you to see if your club would be interested in coming along and supporting our Wings & Wheels fund raising event.

This year we are raising money for two organisations. Our fire brigade would like to build a museum/shed. A Shed to house our support vehicle. And the idea for a museum is to preserve and to have on show the Sheffield Brigades and the Sheffield Districts early history.

At present a lot of the memorabilia is stored in sheds and has the risk of getting damaged or lost. The second is to help the Southern DC3 charitable trust keep their plane air worthy and flying. Hopefully we will be able to get some of the planes to call on their way home from the Wanaka Air show. We will have planes from the Tiger Moth era to the present. Also present will be Gliders, Helicopters, Homebuilt and maybe a hot air balloon.

The vehicles will be the same from the early 1900 to the latest available. This event will be run on the 11th April or bad weather day 18th April. Location is the Selwyn Plantation Boards property on the Main West Coast road between Kirwee and Darfield.

The cost would be $5.00 per person. Children under 12 year’s age free. Hot Food & Drink would be available to purchase. (The local Malvern Loins).

The Coffee guy will be present to quench the biggest thirst The Malvern Order of St John’s Ambulance will be in attendance as we will be sharing some of the funds raised with them. The local police will also be in attendance.
